Lawyers Have Heart campaign takes steps to better health for all

Laura Angelini, a partner at Hinckley Allen, will lead the charge as chair of the 2025 American Heart Association Boston Lawyers Have Heart to raise lifesaving funds, and promote health and wellbeing. The year-round campaign is a community-wide philanthropic effort to benefit the American Heart Association, culminating with a 5K on June 5 at Flynn Cruiseport.
Angelini serves on the American Heart Association’s Boston Board of Directors and brings more than 22 years of experience as a lawyer in Boston to this leadership role.
“We are thrilled to have Laura leading this year’s Lawyers Have Heart campaign,” said Karen Whitefield, executive director of the American Heart Association in Boston. “Her commitment and experience make her a tremendous asset to our team, and we’re excited to collaborate with her to make this year’s race a great success.”
As the Lawyers Have Heart chair, Angelini is heading an Executive Leadership Team of top attorneys and corporate leaders working to recruit companies and organizations to take part in this year’s campaign. Thousands of participants will run on race day to raise awareness and funds to further the work of the American Heart Association.
As a partner in Hinckley Allen’s Litigation Department, Angelini concentrates her practice in the areas of Litigation, Research Compliance & Integrity, Banking & Financial Institutions, Construction and Public Contracts, Securities Litigation, Senior Living, Sexual Misconduct & Workplace Harassment, White Collar & Government Harassment and Health Care. Prior to Hinckley Allen, she was a graduate of Boston College Law School.
The American Heart Association, which has been saving lives for more than 100 years, is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally. Even when these conditions don’t result in death, they cause disability and diminish quality of life.
“This is not just another finish line,” said Angelini. “It’s a movement to raise funds for scientific advancement that help give people more time for life’s special moments. I’m deeply committed to the fight against heart disease and stroke, and with the dedication of our amazing volunteers and generous sponsors, I’m confident we can make a positive impact in the health of our Boston community.”
The Lawyers Have Heart 5K has been held annually in Boston since 2008. It brings runners and walkers together from across the region to raise awareness of cardiovascular health through a timed 5K.
This year’s race will take place on Thursday, June 5, at Flynn Cruiseport Boston. To register, visit LHHBoston.org. For additional information or to get your company involved, email Jessica Berretta, vice president of development, at Jessica.Berretta@heart.org.
