Laura Smith and Tim Brightbill return as co-chairs for the Lawyers Have Heart 10K, 5K and Fun Walk

Local consultant Laura Smith and attorney Tim Brightbill are returning to co-chair the American Heart Association’s Lawyers Have Heart 10K, 5K and Fun Walk for a third time this spring.

Although founded by lawyers, Lawyers Have Heart has grown into a community-wide celebration of movement and mission. 

This annual 10K, 5K and Fun Walk provides an opportunity to achieve a health and fitness goal while supporting the Association’s advances in science, policy and care.

Lawyers Have Heart will return on May 15, 2027.

About the co-chairs 

Laura Smith is a partner at HKA, a global consultancy in dispute resolution, expert witness services, litigation support, and risk mitigation. 

  • “I’m thrilled to return alongside Tim to help lead Lawyers Have Heart toward another successful year,” Smith said. “Each year, as we take off on this run and walk, we see even more inspiring progress in the fight against heart disease and stroke.” 

Tim Brightbill is partner and co-chair of the international trade practice at Wiley, a firm representing clients in complex, high-stakes regulatory, litigation, and transactional matters.
