A local man who suffered a cardiac arrest while skating at the Burbank Ice Arena in Reading last month was reunited with the heroes who played a key role in saving his life yesterday.
James Liston, who collapsed on the ice on December 19, credited the quick actions of these individuals, who utilized a defibrillator and performed CPR, as the key factors that contributed to his survival.
After undergoing heart surgery, Liston was released from the hospital in January, marking a remarkable recovery from the harrowing incident.
The American Heart Association recognized the extraordinary efforts of the lifesaving team by presenting them with Heartsaver Hero Awards. These awards serve as a testament to the crucial role they played in ensuring Liston’s recovery.
