Community Leaders Unite to Raise Funds and Awareness for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention at Heart of the Hamptons Centennial Celebration
LONG ISLAND, NY – July 10, 2024 — The American Heart Association’s 2024 Heart of the Hamptons Centennial Celebration, held last June 19, 2024 at The Wine Stand at the Wölffer Estate, was a resounding success, raising critical funds to support the Association’s life-saving mission to fight heart disease and stroke on Long Island. This memorable event brought together community leaders and supporters dedicated to making a difference in the fight against these life-threatening conditions.
Heart disease and stroke remain leading causes of death in the United States and on Long Island, claiming more lives each year than all forms of cancer combined. On Long Island, the impact is very significant, with thousands of residents affected annually. The Association’s efforts are vital in raising awareness, funding research and providing education to reduce the prevalence and impact of these preventable conditions.
James Prinzivalli, President of Executive Fliteways and event chair, expressed his profound gratitude and emphasized the importance of community involvement and collective action. “We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support we received at this year’s Heart of the Hamptons Centennial Celebration. This event not only raises critical funds but also brings our community together to champion the fight against heart disease and stroke. Together, we can make an impact on the health and well-being of Long Islanders.”
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Nick Racanelli Torch of Strength award to Joseph J. Perry, Tax and Business Services Leader at Marcum, LLP and the outgoing Long Island board chair. This prestigious award acknowledges individuals who embody a commitment to excellence and make a significant impact on the Association and the community through leadership and passion. In response, Mr. Perry stated, “It is an honor to be recognized with the Nick Racanelli Torch of Strength award. Our progress is a testament to the dedication of everyone in our community. Together, we are saving lives and building a healthier future for Long Island.”
