Hundreds of attendees from the Long Island medical and corporate community came out to the Garden City Hotel in Garden City on Thursday, April 27th to attend the American Heart Association’s 54th Annual Long Island Heart & Stroke Ball. The Long Island Heart Ball is an annual social event held to recognize outstanding accomplishments of individuals and companies in the area of cardiovascular science and leadership.
This year’s “Evening In Emerald City” themed event was chaired by Adam Silvers, Esq., Managing Partner-Ruskin Moscou, Faltischek and Vice-Chaired by Renee Pope, Executive Director, KPMG, LLP. The 54th Annual Heart Ball honored Philip D. Ragno, M.D., F.A.C.C., President/Co-Founder-Island Cardiac Specialists & Director of Cardiovascular Health & Wellness-Winthrop-University Hospital with the 2017 Cardiovascular Science Award and David S. Bagatelle, Executive Vice President & President -New York Metro Market, Sterling National Bank received the 2017 Corporate Leadership Award.
Long Island residents, Mike DeStefeno and Stefanie Cohen shared their heart & stroke stories with the audience.
The evening was a spectacular success and included dinner, silent auction and dancing to the tunes of the Kenny Ford Band.
