The American Heart Association is excited to welcome Howard L. Haronian, MD, FACC as a member to the Connecticut Board of Directors. In his role, Dr. Haronian will help the association in building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke, through oversight of local revenue generation and health impact activities. The American Heart Association is the world’s leading voluntary health organization devoted to fighting cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Haronian is the Chief Quality and Innovation Officer, Vice President East Region, Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute. He is a practicing interventional cardiologist.

As a member of the regional board of directors, Dr. Haronian will help to drive strategies to create a healthier Connecticut for all. Together, board members will work to address important issues facing the Connecticut community, including tackling the youth vaping epidemic, increasing access to affordable and healthy food, addressing hypertension, and ensuring residents live in a healthy environment that supports physical and mental being.
