Saint Vincent Hospital CEO to Chair Heart Walk on May 2nd

Heart walk chair encourages Central MA to take steps to live longer, healthier lives

MacLauchlanThe American Heart Association is pleased to announce that Boylston resident, Steven MacLauchlan, President and Chief Executive Officer at Saint Vincent Hospital, will serve as chair of the 2015 Central MA Heart Walk. The annual event will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, at the DCR’s Quinsigamond State Park, Lake Park in Worcester.

As part of his leadership, MacLauchlan is encouraging companies, organizations and residents throughout Central Massachusetts to come together to support the American Heart Association in its mission to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The Heart Walk brings together more than 1,500 people and raises critical funds for life-saving heart and stroke research and education.

“Heart disease and stroke continue to be the leading causes of death in the United States,” said MacLauchlan. “The Heart Walk will give us the opportunity to fight back against heart disease and stroke, and create a healthier community for all of us.”

Prior to joining Saint Vincent Hospital in 2014, MacLauchlan held senior executive positions at hospitals in Kentucky and Pennsylvania. From 1997 to 2003, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer at Tenet Healthcare Corporation hospitals in the Florida Region. MacLauchlan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Florida State University and his Masters in Health Services Administration from Florida International University.

The Central MA Heart Walk will be held rain or shine on Saturday, May 2nd, at the DCR’s Quinsigamond State Park, Lake Park in Worcester. Registration begins at 8:30am and the walk kicks-off at 9:30am, with all survivors invited to the stage for the Red Cap wave.
