My name is Erin Fazio. I have a family history of heart disease and diabetes. Both of my grandfathers passed away from heart attacks and I have an uncle who suffered multiple strokes and a heart attack. My father under went an emergency quadruple bypass when he was only 46. I also have diabetes and a history of high blood pressure.
It was when my son was born two years ago with a congenital heart defect that I realized I needed to make a change. I asked myself, “How am I supposed to teach my son to lead a healthy lifestyle if I’m not leading by example?”
My son is my #1 reason. I not only want to lose weight and control my diabetes with diet and excercise, but I also want to gain from this experience the knowledge to maintain a healthy lifestyle beyond the 12 week program.
