CYCLENATION RETURNS TO IGNITE A HEALTH REVOLUTION IN NYC

The American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, will host its second-annual CycleNation on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from the top of One World Trade Center. This year, David Langer, MD, Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery, Lenox Hill Hospital Northwell Health, will serve as Chair of this stroke-centric event.

“My father suffered a life altering stroke at the age of 45 which uniquely affected my family. While the tragedy was a tremendous loss for my family, the positive was that it resulted in my becoming a neurosurgeon with a path leading me here to my involvement with CycleNation.” Dr. Langer said. “I am grateful to be asked to lead this event and work with the American Heart Association to continue to educate about and elevate stroke.”

Cardiovascular disease, including stroke, is the number one killer in the United States and a leading cause of disability. Fortunately, 80 percent of cardiovascular disease, including stroke, is largely preventable through education, simple lifestyle changes, and action.

CycleNation is a movement to empower the nation to use cycling to become brain and heart healthy, raise funds to continue vital community programs, and support research to end stroke and heart disease.

Shelley Rome, radio DJ from Z100, will serve as Emcee of this live event, featuring special guests, music, breathtaking views of New York City, an after party.
