The American Heart Association, a global force for healthier lives for all, will be welcoming the Hampton Roads community in-person for the Peninsula Heart Walk on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Fort Monroe and the Southside Heart Walk on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Chesapeake City Park.
Reese Jackson, President & CEO of Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is chairman for the Hampton Roads Heart Challenge campaign. He is looking to champion his own record-breaking numbers from previously chairing the Heart of Hampton Roads Heart & Stroke Ball campaign and serving as a top fundraiser and Cor Vitae member of the Hampton Roads Executive Board of Directors.
This year, Heart Challenge focuses on employee health and wellness. As a person who regularly exercises, Jackson knows the importance of a daily routine that promotes staying active. He leads a medical system with over 2,400 employees and 600 physicians on staff. Jackson will serve as a trusted voice to the community, invest in the mission of the American Heart Association, recruit leaders and colleagues who serve as examples, and facilitate outreach to further advance community transformation.
“Cardiovascular disease and the need to advance research is personal for me,” said Jackson. “I have witnessed the work of the American Heart Association and stood alongside families who have benefitted from the lifesaving funds raised. We have the opportunity to make the workplace healthier. I’m looking forward to leading the Hampton Roads effort, walking together, one step at a time, as we influence our family, friends, co-workers, and colleagues to adapt heart-healthy lifestyles.”
As Heart Challenge chair, Jackson is supported by an Executive Leadership team that includes:
- Mary Bibbs, Bibbs Foundation
