
The American Heart Association in Maine recently hired Whitney Parrish Perry of Augusta as Maine’s Government Relations Director. Perry comes to the Association with a strong background in lobbying, coalition building, and policy campaign management.
Her personal and professional experiences shape her passion for improving and sustaining the health and wellness of all people, particularly those belonging to marginalized communities and groups. A lifelong resident of Maine, Perry previously held the role of policy director at the Maine Women’s Lobby, AIDS service organization Health Equity Alliance, and Maine’s Permanent Commission on the Status of Racial, Indigenous, and Tribal Populations, where she also served as acting executive director.
Most recently, Perry served as executive/operations director of Maine Access Points and provided population health subject matter expertise and grant writing consultation to MaineHealth. Whitney studied Latin and Greek language and literature at Smith College and the University of Southern Maine.
