Regina Mosely recognized for her leadership and innovation in advancing rural public health across Connecticut
The American Heart Association, devoted to changing the future to a world of healthier lives for all, has named Regina Mosely of New London the National HeartCorps Member of the Year. This prestigious award recognizes Mosely’s outstanding contributions to improving public health outcomes in rural communities and her dedication to building sustainable pathways to quality healthcare.
Mosely was selected from among 13 national finalists for her exceptional work with Indigenous communities in Connecticut along with her ability to bridge gaps, develop partnerships that support hypertension awareness and management, and for her commitment to the communities she serves.
“Regina brings wisdom, strategic insight, and unwavering dedication to our mission,” said Lynette Coleman, vice president Community Impact of the American Heart Association. “She truly embodies the spirit of a mission-driven leader, continually identifying new ways to serve others. Her impactful leadership has not only propelled our goals forward but has also inspired her peers—whether through national retreats, panel discussions at the Eastern States Rural Health Summit, or her invaluable contributions to team dialogue. HeartCorps aims to address the critical shortage of healthcare professionals in rural areas by empowering local members to deliver health education, CPR training, nutrition guidance, and blood pressure management resources. Across the country, HeartCorps members work to strengthen public health infrastructure by enhancing local capacity and resources.
