Infor, a global leader in business cloud software specialized by industry, has committed to helping the American Heart Association raise funds and awareness to place up to 500 Infant CPR training kits across hospitals in the Mid-Atlantic region. The kits contain training materials to help families learn hands-only CPR and choking-relief skills from the comfort of their own homes in about 20 minutes.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created an unprecedented need for access to health tools and resources across the nation. Because of the pandemic, many hospitals have ceased their in-person CPR and choking-relief classes for families, and many leave the hospital neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) without the critical life-saving skills for their high-risk newborns. The American Heart Association and Infor have come together to provide resources to help fill that gap.
Infor invites businesses and corporations to join its mission to help provide a life-saving solution to this critical need and will match dollar for dollar the total amount of funds collectively raised from organizations participating in this effort up to $125,000. By matching all financial gifts up to $125,000, Infor stands by the American Heart Association and demonstrates its ongoing dedication to the well-being of the community.
“At Infor, we strive to give back to the communities where our employees live and work,” said Mark Weber, Senior Vice President at Infor and Executive Leadership Volunteer for the American Heart Association. “Improving the well-being of our employees, customers and the community at large is a driving force behind everything we do. We seek opportunities to support organizations like the American Heart Association to enrich the health and welfare of those who live across our region and beyond.”
“The American Heart Association is grateful for Infor’s generosity and leadership,” said Jennifer Davis, Senior Vice President and Executive Director of AHA Philadelphia.
“The pandemic has prevented some hospitals from providing families the CPR training and education they would typically receive before taking their babies home. Without this education, many families are leaving the hospital NICU feeling vulnerable and insecure about bringing their newborns home. With the support of Infor’s generous gift, we are helping families to feel safe and educated,” continued Davis.
The American Heart Association Philadelphia has activated its full organizational strength—locally and nationally—to combat the spread of COVID-19 and address the vulnerability of heart and stroke patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and underserved populations. The American Heart Association, with the help of companies like Infor, is making a lasting impact in the community. There is still more work to be done! With the support of our generous, dedicated partners we can support the ongoing and ever-changing needs of our hospitals, communities, and more!
